This measuring instrument can be used to determine the flow rate and bulk density of metal powders.

Determination of flow rate EN ISO 4490
The test measures the time taken for 50 g of a metallic powder to flow out of a standardised, calibrated hopper .

EN ISO 3923
The bulk density of metallic powders is determined by measuring the flow through a nozzle with a 2.5 mm orifice. If the powder’s properties prevent flow through the 2.5 mm nozzle, a nozzle with a 5 mm orifice may be used.
