    SON02269 Perforator Extraction Apparatus, 1,000 ml

    Complete glassware set for determining the formaldehyde content of uncoated and unvarnished wood-based materials in accordance with DIN EN ISO 12460-5:2016-05. The former standard designation DIN EN 120:1992-08 is still cited for clear reference.

    The perforator apparatus is used to carry out the perforator method described in the standard. In this process, the formaldehyde is extracted from the test specimen using boiling toluene and collected in distilled or demineralised water. The toluene is continuously evaporated, condensed in the reflux condenser and returned to the extraction process.

    The subsequent determination of the formaldehyde content is carried out photometrically using the acetylacetone method.

    The complete glassware set comprises the glass components required for the extraction setup, including a condenser, adaptors, a perforator filter insert, a perforator head, a double-ball tube, an Erlenmeyer flask and a round-bottom flask.

    The SON02269PV perforator head is an improved version. High-quality PRODURAN®-PTFE valves are used in place of the ground glass stoppers previously used.

    In addition to the complete glass set, Landgraf Laborsysteme HLL also supplies the other components required for a complete test setup, including a heating hood, stainless steel stand, lifting platform, connection components, accessories and spare parts.

    Normative note

    DIN EN 120:1992-08 has been withdrawn and replaced by DIN EN ISO 12460-5:2016-05. The former designation is still mentioned so that the perforator extraction apparatus can be clearly identified when searching for older method and equipment designations.
